California Redwoods - A Photo Essay

Returning from vacation, feeling a lot like a little Lilliputian coming back from the Land of Giant Redwood trees. California’s Redwood forests, with trees that are hundreds of years old and hundreds of feet tall, are an awesome experience in themselves.

The single lane, extremely winding roads thru these forests are mesmerizing. Driving on them is as interesting as 'getting there'.

The frequent lookouts are a great getaway to wander around and at once lose yourself and rediscover yourself.

Looking at these giants is a little like being a baby again - surrounded by all the old, old creatures... too tall to even gaze at...

There is one roughly 360 feet tall tree here (measured in 1957) named the 'Tall Tree' - which is really laughable, because all its companions can fight for the same title. In a land of giants, Lilliputians shouldn't be the referees of the height :)

The young (leaves) and the old (bark)
